Ben is a creative professional who has spent the past seven years with Tennis Australia driving commercial and strategic outcomes for the organisation. In addition to being the national governing body for the sport, Tennis Australia owns and manages many professional events including the Australian Open, Laver Cup and the recently formed national team event, ATP Cup.
Ben’s team, who are located in offices throughout Australia, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Chengdu, are responsible for increasing and commercialising the fan base of its marquee events where the Australian Open in particular is one of the most watched sports events with one of the largest digital audiences in Asia. With this in mind, the Australian Open is an effective platform for brands to connect with passionate fans, generates exciting content for media and digital partners, and is becoming an ever increasing must visit event for tourists travelling from all around the world.
The Australian Open and tennis more broadly leads to many other opportunities where Ben and the team from Tennis Australia leverage the event and sport to support and develop diplomatic relationships throughout the world, share experiences and expertise that they have learnt along the way, often representing a broader Australia brand.
Prior to Tennis Australia, Ben worked in various marketing and commercial roles with Ford Motor Company of Australia.
Ben, his wife and two young daughters have just recently returned to Melbourne after calling Hong Kong home for the past few years.
