Partner and Chief Representative of MinterEllison's Shanghai Office
Chris is a Partner and the Chief Representative of MinterEllison's Shanghai office. He specialises in cross border M&A, private equity, joint ventures, foreign direct investment (FDI) and other commercial transactions.
Chris has extensive experience working with Chinese clients and counterparties and has worked on some of the most prominent China related M&A transactions in the past decade. He has lived in China for more than a decade working on the ground in Beijing with a magic circle law firm and now, with MinterEllison in Shanghai.
Chris is fluent in both spoken and reading Chinese (Mandarin) and English which, combined with his Australian education and training is highly valuable to clients in complex and difficult cross border negotiations. Chris regularly advises Chinese and multinational corporations and organisations (including government and quasi-government organisations) on a broad range of matters.
Chris is also a director on the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai and sits on the Asia Advisory Committees of the Fred Hollows Foundation and Lifeline Shanghai.
